The Deroyal 25-2244NS – SharpStop Sharps Transfer Tray is a non-sterile, disposable device designed to safely transfer and pass commonly used sharp instruments during invasive procedures. This product is particularly useful in environments where controls are required to reduce employee exposure to bloodborne pathogens, as it helps to prevent sharps injuries.
The tray facilitates compliance to OSHA Directive CPL 2-244D and can accommodate a wide range of instruments, including scalpels, sutures, forceps, K-wires, syringes, and retractors. The underside of the tray is designed to accommodate the practical positioning and safe passing of multiple instruments.
The product was designed by a scrub nurse and has been proven to be user-friendly for the entire operating team. It features a center finger guide that cradles the scalpel for safe removal and a center guide that can accommodate up to a size 9 gloved hand. The specially designed central recess is wide enough to accommodate scalpel blades but does not allow fingers to touch the blades.
The SharpStop Sharps Transfer Tray also features a hands-free passing system. It can accommodate curved suture needles, needle holders up to eight inches long, and straight suture needles. The tray can also pass and receive single and double-ended K-wires and pins up to 185mm long in the upper side recess.
The tray is not made with natural rubber latex and is intended for single-use. It is not a prescription product (Rx), over the counter product (OTC), kit, combination product, or a human cell, tissue, or cellular or tissue-based product (HCT/P). The product labeling does not contain MRI safety information.
