This urinary catheter is latex, but it is coated internally and externally with a silicone elastomer coating. This enable the catheter to resist encrustation and bacterial colonization
Usage of Medline DYND11800 Silicone-Elastomer Coated Latex Foley Catheter
A larger french (FR) size can become necessary when the urine is thick, bloody or contains large amounts of sediment. However, larger may cause damage to the urethra. Most common sizes are 14 or 16 fr.
