The 3M 1630 Tegaderm I.V. Transparent Film Dressing Frame Style is a sterile, vapour permeable transparent film dressing designed to cover and protect catheter sites and wounds, while also securing devices to the skin. It is ideal for use in various clinical areas such as Dialysis Centres, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Surgery, Cardiovascular, Critical Care, Emergency Room, I.V. Therapy, Intensive Care, Pediatric, and Radiology.
This dressing enhances patient comfort with its soft, porous and breathable design. Its unique non-adherent pad will not stick to the wound, allowing for normal healing with less pain and trauma. The absorbent pad also protects the wound and absorbs drainage, while allowing the exchange of moisture and oxygen, reducing the risk of skin maceration.
The dressing provides excellent adhesion, yet is gentle to the skin and does not contain natural rubber latex. It is easy to apply, conforms to body contours, and flexes with movement or swelling. This all-in-one dressing is designed to reduce application time and is available in a wide range of sizes for most common applications.
The dressing is waterproof and provides a sterile barrier that protects the I.V. site or wound from external contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, blood and body fluids. In vitro testing shows that the transparent film provides a viral barrier from viruses 27 nm in diameter or larger while the dressing remains intact without leakage.
The transparency of the dressing allows for continuous visibility to the I.V. insertion site. It can be worn up to 7 days and is radiologically transparent, meaning Tegaderm products can be safely left on patients skin during radiotherapy treatments. The dressing does not act as bolus material, with or without 3M Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film (CNSBF).
The 3M 1630 Tegaderm Transparent Film Dressing Frame Style can also be used to maintain a moist wound environment to facilitate autolytic debridement and helps to prevent skin breakdown caused by friction. It is hypoallergenic and comes in a pack of 50 units.
